Moodle Workplace – Moodle for professional use in organizations
Moodle Workplace is the enterprise edition of Moodle. It adds multi-tenancy, organization structures, automated workflows and reporting to the LMS you already know – the features larger organizations otherwise have to rebuild by hand. As a certified Moodle Premium Partner we provide Workplace and run it GDPR-compliant from Germany.
What is Moodle Workplace?
Moodle Workplace is a paid version of Moodle available exclusively through certified Moodle partners. It is built on Moodle LMS and extends it with features for staff development and compliance in companies and larger organizations.
The technical core stays familiar: courses, activities, grading and plugins work as they do in Moodle LMS. What comes on top is a management layer for organizational units and tenants, plus tools to automate recurring administrative work. For the basics, see What is Moodle? →
The main features
- Multi-tenancy (tenants) – several separate environments within one installation, for subsidiaries, sites, partners or customers. Each tenant has its own users, branding and courses.
- Organization structure with departments and positions – you model your org chart inside the system. Training can then be tied to a department or a position rather than to named individuals.
- Automation through dynamic rules – rules that follow an "if this event happens, then do that" pattern. For example: a new hire in a given position is enrolled in mandatory training automatically and reminded about it.
- Programs and certifications – programs bundle several courses into one learning path. Certifications cover recurring proof of competence, with validity periods and recertification.
- Reporting – reports across departments, programs and certification status, exportable and schedulable.
- App customization – the mobile app can be delivered with its own branding per tenant.

Who benefits from Workplace?
Workplace pays off when administration becomes the actual workload. That typically starts at several hundred employees, with multiple sites or subsidiaries, and wherever mandatory training with deadlines and proof of completion is involved.

How we support you
As a certified Moodle Premium Partner we can license and operate Moodle Workplace. That covers the license through the partner channel, setting up your tenant and organization structure, implementing your automation rules, and day-to-day operations including updates and backups.
Existing Moodle installations can be migrated to Workplace, keeping courses, user data and progress intact. Can we move from Moodle LMS to Workplace? Yes. Existing installations can be migrated, and content and learning progress are preserved. We check plugin compatibility beforehand.
Will our own plugins keep working? In many cases yes. Because Workplace introduces structures of its own, we review each plugin individually before migrating.
